Used mine this morning and I can only echo the earlier statements. In my regular rotation are a few soaps from Sue at Saint Charles Shave, Mitchell Woolfat, and Provence Sante, and Mike's soap stands right up there with the rest of those excellent products. Great scent, lathers quickly, provides a dense, slick, moisturizing lather, and rinses clean. What more could you ask?

    Great job, Mike.

I just ordered up some and a bottle of "Well Honed Bay Rum" to boot. Hopefully my Capshaw brush gets here about the same time.

I received 2 soap samples with my Wapi. They produce great lather.

Ok, I have a couple of shaves with my "Well Honed" soap now. First thing I learned is I can't treat this stuff like William. I dropped one in my mug with my brush and filled it with hot water while I showered. When I came back the thing was almost completely gone. Boy does this stuff lather up nice though. Now I soak my brush in the GP scuttle and everything is cool.

I must admit I didn't expect this (or any) soap to be nearly as much better than the Williams as it was but it is. Doesn't dry out nearly as fast makes much better lather with less effort and shaves better too.

+++ for the "Well Honed" soap and the Bay Rum is very nice as well.

Glad to hear it works well for you, and my condolences about the dissolved puck...
Any cold process, melt and pour or glycerine based soap will dissolve like that because they aren't as dense as a milled soap.
Your williams is a milled soap, which "usually" means they curdle it with a chemical solution, scoop the glycerine off, then dehydrate and compress it with a machine.

When making a lather with a softer soap like mine, Mama Bear's or Colleens, you don't want to soak the soap, a couple of drops of water on top will acheve the desired effect, and you don't need as much water in your brush. If you do it right, you can acheve lather the consistency of whipped cream in a matter of seconds.

I finally have the first small batch of full sized pucks ready to go.
