    Default TGQ Soaps

Rather than providing a review of a single soap I am going to do a general review of Colleen's soaps as I believe the individual scents are a personal preference. I have not used any of her shave creams so I can't offer an opinion of them.

What I have found is that the scents are clean and natural. I don't know what her scent sources are, but I applaud her for selecting ones that are not heavily scented or bizarre. She seems to have found just the right mixes and percentages. What she produces is a masculine scent, pleasant without being flowery.

They are also the best for performance I have ever used. It doesn't take much soap to produce a good amount of lather. The lather stays on my face and brush thoughout my shave. The lubrication is second to none. I have paid a lot more and less for other soaps but none can come close to the performance (or scent either) of her soaps.

I agree, Dan. Colleen's Leatherneck is single handedly responsible for my using soaps at all. I'd have stuck to creams if it weren't for the great scents and soft lather. Now they're what I prefer. I did a review of TGQ stuff a while ago myself.

I've only tried 2 of her soaps and 1 of her creams, but my impression of them are very good, they lather well and IMHO the scent is nice.

I think the key to Colleens scents is that she keeps them simple. Mostly nicely balanced essential oil fragrances. For me these basic scents are much more masculine than the commercial soaps and shower gels available in the supermarket, which are overpowering and artificial.

You know, having used her Lavender soap in the past, I'll bet it'll be very attractive to men.

I have about 6 or 7 of her soaps, and each one is a superb performer, has great lubricating qualities, and always smells fresh and lively. Her nose for scents and their pungency is really what sets her apart for me. Never too strong, never too weak, and always hitting the exact right fragrance note.

I got really upset with TGQ soaps today!!!!

I've been using the same brand of very "old-school" shave soap since I was a teenager, and I've always loved it and told everyone how great it is, and I've got probably 8-12 bars sitting under my sink.

Today I tried a sample size bar of Coleen's Savon de Camagne (sp?) that Gugi sent me with a razor I bought from him.

The soap from TGQ is so vastly superior to my old shave soap, that I'll have to give the old stuff away and stock up on TGQ stuff.

Now I just have to wait until my scuttle arrives in a few days and see how her soap does with that.
