    Default Penhaligon's Blenheim Bouqet Cream

Have you been looking at that very fine, heavy glass jar, with the equally fine, heavy metal lid, with fanciful writing, wishing you could have a smell and a feel?

Well, for the $50 entry cost.... don't bother. Yes, the eye candy is nice: the jar and lid are great bathroom decor. The cream smells very good. Very, very good. Like one of the best smells I've ever smelled. Between the eye and nose candy, I was excited; I thought for sure the shave quality would equal the looks/smell.

The feel of the cream right out of the jar was fantastic. I gave it a little rub between index and thumb. Great stuff. It exploded into a very luxurious, soft, wonderful feeling cream. Oh yeah, this was gonna be great!!

The feel of it as applied with a brush was wonderful. Yup, I was convinced I'd spent fifty bucks on something great.

On to the shave. Wow... imagine my utter disappointment at the complete lack of lubrication. Tabac soap has *far* better lubrication than the Pen's. Even TOBS Avocado has better lube than Pen's. To me, lube is 99% important. I have a very coarse beard, and very soft sensitive skin. The more lube the better. Pen's failed miserably in this category. It did, however, leave my face very refreshed and not a bit dry.

I'd give it a ten in everything except price/performance and lube.

If you really value high lubrication, save your fifty bucks and look elsewhere.

Edit: Could I get a Mod to correct the title? I spelled "Penhaligon's" wrong.

I appreciate the review. I've not wanted the cream, but have a new puck of the BB soap I'm anxious to try. I'm expecting the soap to be a better performer than the cream was, when you used it.

I haven't tried the creams, but I really like the Penhaligon's soaps.
