Default what is it about those glycerin soaps?

after rotating mainly french soaps the last few weeks.. i had a strong craving for srd's lime soap today.. i'm not sure what it is about glycerin soaps.. but damn are they fun sometimes..

maybe it's the lack of cusion.. or the slick glide.. something about glycerin soaps are just something i enjoy from time to time..

what is it about the glycerin soaps.. the fun scents?

    anyone?

I don't know, I don't like em. I'll take a triple milled soap any day. The only good thing most Glycerin soaps have going is they are usually cheaper and they can be loaded down with scent though I've found over time they lose the scent faster.

What I like about glycerin soaps is that they don't dry out my face like a lot of other soaps do.

I'm usually not a glycerin based soap guy but the best glycerin based soap for me is SRD's Bulgarian Rose. It's also the only glycerin based soap I kept as I gave away many others. It's the EO used that makes it stand out.

    Hello, Victor:

I make good lather with glycerin soaps. Cushion and glide are fine, too. I use them occasionally for a change of pace. The luxurious lather the French, English and German tallow soaps give me is hard to resist.

    Regards,

    Obie

i do enjoy my french soaps.. but there is just something fun about the lather that comes from glycerin based soaps.. it seems lighter and much more slick..

so far i have to say that srd makes some of the best glycerin soap around.. i have yet to try bulgarian rose.. but i look forward to it.. i also plan on picking up some patchouli at some point..

oh.. and let's not forget mama bears.. that's some mighty fine stuff.

Good luck with that, Vic. They stopped selling it some time ago (when stock was depleted). I've been trying to get Lynn and Don to do another batch for some time now, with no luck. And it sure doesn't help when guys like Max say it's their favorite soap......

I'm a huge fan of glycerin soaps and SRD's in particular. Branching out a bit to include French, English and Italian hard and soft soaps has shown me the wonderful benefits of all of them, but my glycerin soaps still hold their own amongst them. Had SRD's West Indies Bay last night.......just lovely. Some of my others are a little more rich or thick, but I completely agree that there is that special "something" about glycerin soaps.

QED also makes great smelling glycerin soaps. Charles doesn't skimp on the EO's too. I particularly love the Sandalwood (smells like the real deal) and Special 215 which is like sticking your nose in a spruce tree on a cold day.
