Default La Toja Manantiales: a legend overblown

    Ladies and gentlemen:

I had high expectations of La Toja Manantiales shave soap, since I had known about it for years and for some reason never tried it. After all, it was a legend. I confess, I am disappointed in this soap. Oh, it's a good soap, but it does well on the shelf marked average. For what it's worth, I wrote a review of it in the "Reviews."

    Regards,

    Obie

As with many products in shaving, YMMV is the tune...

I've been meaning to try this as I like using the LaToja stick although I know it is a different formula. So it is not a Cella contender then?

Well, heck what you expect for some high highfalutin soap most us regular folk can't even pronounce.

It's very good, right up there with MdC when it comes to a vegetable soap. IMO of course. Cella contender for sure.

    Hello, WBK:

I'm afraid I am not a fan of Cella, but then this is a thread about La Toja Manantiales.

    Regards,

    Obie

I just read through the review, thank you for posting it. The "soft blanket of silk" is one of the things I enjoy from a soap. I will probably still try it, at least to have the interesting bowl

Obie, let me know if you need to liquidate that asset! I'd be more than happy to buy it off you!

I keep occasionally coming back to my bowl, and keep walking away disappointed as well.
It was the first 'expensive' soap I bought after I started wet shaving.
I will probably be trading mine off soon. Anybody want to trade for MWF in ceramic???????
