    Default In Praise of Cade.

I was surprised last week to find a L'Occitane store in the local mall. Browsing their wares, I found the shaving section, and grabbed a puck of Cade. I'd heard of it and wanted to try it.

The only downside to it is it's large diameter. If you don't mind shaving it down, then it's not an issue.

For the test drive, I used a vintage Rooney brush in pure badger. The knot must be nearly 30mm. Lather came easy to this soap and brush paring.

The shave was excellent. No problems with lubricity at all. The razor glided over my skin, taking the stubble with it.

Cade has a smell that defies description. I don't know exactly what it is, but it's clean and light, like a sea breeze.

The best part is the price, $10 for the refill soap, $28 for the soap and metal bowl. By contrast, AOS's lavender soap refill is $26.

It's a simple, good soap. You won't be disappointed.

GeauxLSU, L'Occitane Cade is a fine soap, I agree. It lathers well. Cushion and glide are good. The fragrance is fresh and clean. It's been in the rotation for years.

Thank you, I just looked it up in a store locator, it's down the street in the mall.
    I will have some soon.

I love the stuff, I bought my first puck almost a year ago, I use it almost daily at work for about the last 3-4 months and and I can still faintly see the words etched in the soap, should last a while. I also have the cream, just as good but I still prefer soaps to cream

It is good stuff, one of my favorite soaps, and I'm a cream guy. When I got it, I was surprised at how well it perfomed. The AS Balm is quite nice too.

I love the Cade soap and the cream as well. I've gotten great results by putting a dab of the cream in my soap mug and combining the two.

This is my favorite soap for the fall/winter time.. I have been using partial puck that someone sent me in December and still probably have a good years worth left in it. I will definitely be buying another puck when this one finally disappears.

It was my first shaving soap. I had bought it in February and use it since then almost every 2 days and I still have more than 70%!!!

Also when I had recently bought in local store some cosmetic for my wife to her birthday, I had received 7 samples of L'Occitane Cade Aftershave, very nice smell!

I got some Cade cream a few weeks ago. The smell reminds me of pencil shavings, which takes me back to the first time I emptied a pencil sharpener, back in the school where I learned to read. Good memories and it's a great shave too.

Although there is a L'Occitane Store in a local mall here, I ordered the soap, cream, balm and eau de toilette online in March of this year.

I couldn't agree more with the previous posts. I enjoy every L'Occitane product that I have in my shave den.

In fact, my shave posted in last Sunday's SRP's SOTD forum made use of them.
