    Default Soap Recommendations

Well SWMBO has forbidden me to buy anything else due to the upcoming Christmas Holidays.

As a result I am making a heavily laden list of shaving goodies.

I have been wanting to try a DR Harris Soap, and would appreciated your recommendations.

I also want to add a good Lavender soap to my rotation. In your opinions which would you consider the best.

    Thanks Everyone!

    Jon

Ha, you've opened up the floodgates here.

Castle Forbes lavender is a class act. About the best out there.

    Jon,

I have a Dr. Harris soap that I am not using.I will trade it to for pretty much anything that I do not have.

    Hello, John,
The best lavender soap does not exist except in the opinion of the individual shaver. For what it's worth, then, some lavender soaps I have used and like are: D.R. Harris, Geo F Trumper, Taylor of Old Bond Street, eShave, and Mama Bear. All are good soaps.

Check out the Razorock Chianti Lavender. I was on a quest to find a lavender I liked. Tried a lot and have settled on the RAzorock. Performance is top notch and the price cannot be beat.

For Lavender, my vote would be Castle Forbes.
A phenomenal product rivaled only by an elite few.

    Gentlemen,
A number of you recommend Castle Forbes lavender. Yes, it is exquisite, and I would never be without it. I, however, did not include Castle Forbes lavender in my modest list, because the OP had asked for lavender soaps. Castle Forbes is a cream, although slightly on the hard side. If we're mixing in creams, of course, I highly recommend that, as it reigns in the first tier of lavender creams. That is beautiful stuff.

The only Lavender I've tried is Taylor's, but I wouldn't recommend it. It dries very fast on the skin: if you take your time with the right side by the time you're done you can lather the left again as the soap is solid by then. Also, after shaving the skin is very dry. It smells wonderful and the fragrance lingers on, that's for sure, so on that account it's a go.

Since you have both Lavender and DR Harris on your list may I suggest DR Harris Lavender?

Yes, I've tried it and yes, it's worth it (both the soap and the cream).
