Default Sensitive Skin and does not not smell much

Hi I am a complete newbie, I have ordered a straight razor and waiting for it to arrive (a simple Dovo 5/8 1/2 hollow ground for starters) whilst I am waiting I have started to play around with soaps. I have for many years shaved with a gillette mach 3 using a badger brush and Dove Soap. I have a keen sense of smell of a lot fragrances just don't do me any favours, old spice is enough to give me a migraine.

I brought some Mitchelle's Wool Fat soap which arrived in 2 days (from the UK to my letter box in Australia not bad) but I don't like the smell and as I am still shaving with my mach 3 I could do a comparison of how it felt on my face afterwards and whilst it has more cushion type feel the dove feels better on my face and they smell gets to me a bit as well even though I shower after I shave and wash my face with dove soap it still smells well into to the day.

So recommendations for sensitive skin and a something very mild on the scent would be great.

Straight Razor Designs has a great line of glycerine shave soaps, including an unscented version. http://www.straightrazordesigns.com/...derful-choices

Mama Bear's soaps are also very good. She has an incredible selection of scents, as well as an unscented version. http://mamabearssoaps.com/index.php?...roducts_id=196

Rite-Aid sells Real Shaving Co cream, and they have a Sensitive Skin version. I use it. It's mild and barely smells at all. There's no real fragrance, just a slightly soapy smell.

    Hello, brissybrew,
Try Truefitt & Hill's Ultimate Comfort shave cream. It is a superb lather shave cream and has no fragrance. By the way, welcome to Straight Razor Place.

Get ahold of Mastershake and see if he can make some Bald Frog soap that is unscented. I like his soap.

I would have told you MWF, as most people, and I, find it to have a mild scent. I don't have any other ideas though.

Why not try either MDC (unscented) or TOBS Jermyn Street Soap, the latter does have a scent, but it is not heavy or perfumed and has excellent lubrication. The fun begins as you explore all your alternatives!

You guys have a shave cream from down under available locally there and the name is Fauldlings (sp*) I believe that is the way it is spelled... I find it to be rather nice to the face, the lather is just ok but it feels good...

I want to preface this by saying that I have never tried this personally. The barber who I learned straight razor shaving from, when someone came in and told him they had sensetive skin, would use petrolium jelly instead of the hot foam lather. I imagine that it would give plenty of glide and some cushion.
