Thread: My 1st home made shave soap

Okay, I apologize if this is in the wrong place.

I was inspired by the wiki on making homemade shave soap and so I took the basic recipe for making a shave soap from the wiki and used an Organic Glycerince Based Goat's Milk, Glycerine, Bergamot EO,and Green Chromium Oxide Pigment yesterday. I used it today and it worked great... btw, I love the smell of the Bergamot EO.

Good for you. I had two vendors try and come up with a Goat's milk based shave soap. We could never get the lather right. Now, one vendor actually had a farm, with Goat's, So the milk was as fresh as can be...Finally gave up....

looks very good...I would also love to make some soap...lets see some pics of how it lathered

You have to sacrifice the goat on an altar and boil him for 12 hours. Take the rendered fat and that is the proper way to make goat shaving soap. Stirring constantly BTW. Then there is the goat's head soup recipe.

Uhh, never heard of that method for obtaining goat's milk. Seems really complicated.

Well, I got a little bored today and decided to check out the local arts & crafts store (A.C. Moore). Believe it or not they had most of the ingredients I used to create my shave soap. They had several different types of glycerine soap base, include the goats milk, some essential oils, and I believe coloring as well. I didn't see the glycerine there but that can be found at a lot of different locations.
