    Default Inline Skates

I don't know how many of you skate, whether it is inline or ice.
It had been years for me.

I just took receipt of a pair of K2 FIT skates.

I put them on... Ohhhhhhhhh yeah!!!

I learned to ice skate when i was 4. Growing up in wintery Canada, that is/was the norm.

Now living in almost tropical Japan I am happy to get back to it.

    Another hobby, so little time.

    Here's what I got:

So I have been getting a good amount of skate time on the weekend mornings. I average about 10-14Km every time I'm out. I have to say the low impact feature of inline skating has really had me looking forward to going out to exercise. I recommend it to people who want to try something different and who cannot run because of bad knee joints.

I have also upgraded the wheels in the above posted skates to a set of 90mm wheels (the max size for the skate). A little more speed and a bit smoother ride.

Mostly vert skating but its been some time since I've had the time to do it. I found upgrading the bearings to be worthwhile, if the ones fitted aren't great.

Hope you enjoy them, it's good leg and exercise.

Tried to sell mine the other day and no buyers wanted them. Cannot find the key, though.

I bladed for years. Still do every now and then. K2's are my brand usually as well. Although I'm considering buying a different pair since mine are so old by now (old meaning around 10 years).

Nothing beats K2 for comfort though. The ones I have are the K2 Pat Lennen model basivally these:

But with different frames and wheels.

Here's a little clip of me blading that I made years ago from some leftover footage.

So I slapped on the new wheels and bearings and shaved 8 minutes off my 10 km time.

I'm only skating to get some good low impact cardio into my exercise routine and am very happy with inline skating as an alternative.

Now you've done it. Ordered new bearings and it's all your fault lol.

Still trying to find some wheels for a decent price. Maybe next month though.

Former ice-skater and hockey guy - moved south from Michigan 30 years ago.

    MacroBlades x ABEC4.

63 in July and skating on. Love inline almost as much as ice - more, sometimes.
