There is one down at my shop that I wore out, don't remember the brand, it was free to me anyway, it is being turned into an rifle /pistol target mount.

Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Well then, get yourself a scull and you'll be all set. I wish I lived near decent water for this.

If you feel too lonely in a scull, then find 8 other friends and get into an 8.

Chris, if you do decide to get a rower, watch some videos for proper technique. At the catch (hands all the way forward) drive with legs, then back, then arms. Return with arms first, then back, and do not start to bend your legs till the oar has passed over your knees. So many people start to bend the legs right away on the return and then they bang their knees with the oar handle of the machine, making a very jerky motion. Even on the rowing machine, proper technique matters for a much more fluid (yup) motion.

Chris, did you try out the Concept 2 yet? If so, what did you think?

After a two-year (to the day) layoff, I returned to my Concept2 this afternoon, rowing 1.25K/2:30 x4 in 26:59.9 and felt it. I've owned two Model C's, and this Model D. I bought my first one in January 2002 (while living in Tel-Aviv), as a 50th birthday present to my overweight/out-of-shape self, and became an avid indoor rower. I know that today, 15 years later, it's going to take time, patience, and respect for my aging body to get back to 10K/day... but hey! I'm retired... what else do I hafta do?

I have a Concept 2 rower and like it. They do take up floor space.
