This is the standard small Escher block in the typical baby blue box with rubber.


The label reads:

J.G.Escher Sohn Water Razor Hones established 1790


These are the genuine WATER-HONES, pre ferred throughout Ger- many to all others for sharpening Razors, & c. They need no other recommendation as to their quality than a single trial, which will be sufficient to convince the most incredulous of their superiority. Be particular to keep them free from Oil and Grease.

DIRECTION. To give the Razor a smooth edge, take the small stone and water, and rub till you produce a lather; than apply the Razor, and you will get a smooth and durable edge.
