    Thumbs up DOVO Shavette

I thought I'd add a review for us here at SRP since I don't see one for this little unit.

I bought the stainless steel version, with the red blade holder. The red holder accepts half a DE blade, the black is for the longer blades.

I found this tool to be light and agile; it's a very responsive tool and with a light touch, this razor does a fine job.

The new DOVO DE blade did a very nice job. No irritation and no trouble cutting through a 2 day old beard. I'm looking forward to trying my Derby's and Feather's in it as well.

The S-N pass under my jaw was surprisingly easy, no catching or pulling. No need for an ATG pass, the WTG and XTG passes yielded very smooth results. It's small size made it easy to get my hard to reach spots.

This razor is perfect for travel or camping or as an everyday razor as well.

There are lot's of folks who don't care for this little shaver, but I'm not one of them. I'm glad I bought it and will use it often.

    Randy

I have never shaved with a stright razor in my life..... yet , i bought a DOVO SHAVETTE BOX SET and there is a very unclear description of what comes in it do both blade holders come with it ???, dose it come with the long and short blades or both . It has not arrived yet but i cannot wait to get my first shave with a straight razor. Are the blades universal or do you have to special order certian types for certain razors. if the blades are not included (even though they are to be included) what do you recomend that is the best BANG FOR THE BUCK?????
Sorry if the questions sound stupid but i know very little!!!

My Dovo Shavette came with only the red holder, for a regular double edge blade that you can get anywhere.

I ordered the black insert for a longer blade and also ordered the Dovo blades specifically for this holder. You can see them here

Both holders, the red and the black, fit very tight in the razor slot, even more, the black holder is much better in my opinion, when you open it you find 3 plastic dots that fit exactly in the blade, there's no way the blade can move at all. If you look at the blade picture you'll know what I'm talking about. (Even this picture shows 4 holes on each side, my blades and holder only have 3)
The shave is excellent, you just have to be carefull and use no pressure at all, or you'll get cuts.
