    Default Joseph Elliot from Philadelph

I just received a razor from Philadelph. I was unable to post the pictures, but Alex has them further down in this thread. Below is a copy of what I had sent to him.

    Alex,

I was anticipating getting that razor today and the mailman decided to be late and did not deliver until almost 7 o’clock. Very frustrating. 7 o’clock seems downright un-American to me. In any event, I am writing now before I shave tomorrow because no matter how it shaves this is my impression of the razor.

After unwrapping, but before my brain registered the sight my hand told me that this razor was the perfect weight, whatever that means. There are just some objects that feel the right weight when they are held in your hand. Later when I opened it up it I found it was also perfectly balanced. Anyway, when I did see it my first impression was the color. I have no idea what to call the color, but whatever it is I love it. From the pictures I was expecting black, but this is so much better. And, of course, the 3D effect was a wonderful bonus.

I have to admit I was a little apprehensive about the scales extending so much farther than the end of the blade, but you were absolutely right, it looks better in person. The lines flow gracefully from one end to the other. It is astoundingly beautiful. The precisely placed differently sized pins are the crowning glory. While we are at that end let me say that IMHO the spacer is the Achilles heel of many scales. Your spacer and scales are a match made in heaven.

The blade is beautiful in its simplicity, but I’ll save that for my after shave post. All in all, a gorgeous razor and outstanding craftsmanship.

    Thank you very much,

    Default First shave

I just shaved with this razor and as they say the proof of the pudding is in the eating. Well, my whiskers may as well have been pudding the way that blade ate through them. What with his reputation and the look of that razor my expectations were pretty high, but they were met handily. Now I can say that I officially 100% love this razor.

Curses, right now I am at a loss. Hopefully Philadelph will see this and put up what he has.
