Default Friedmann & Lauterjung's ELECTRIC razor.

Here i am reviewing one of my favorite razors of all time, the ELECTRIC blade, i am a big fan of Full Hollows and this one let me tell you ...is as hollow as they get, the noise that it makes while cutting a hair is the cleanest "KLING" i have ever heard.
I simply doubt razors like this are being made anymore, i suspect the machines to grind a blade like this plus the man with the skills are just hard to come by these days...so...if you have a chance...grab one of these babies.
The balance is superb and the edge that it took is incredible, not even the best of the fillies comes close, and i have had a few....

The shape of the razor is gorgeous, the lines are sexy, i have to mention though that as important as the actual blade if not more is the work that has been done to it for it to become the great shaver that it is today.
This razor didn't look like this when i got it, i am a very lucky guy who has a friend that comes across great blades, he gave me this blade saying that it was among the top picks and favorite to use of a gentleman very well respected in this forums ,after hearing that i send it off to who i think makes the best restorations around, MAX-S. This guy has some bringing old metal to life capabilities.
He polished the blade to a mirror like shine like i have never seen before ,i have to wear sunglasses if i want to shave during the day....the edge is as sharp as a razor can get or that your face can handle...and the scales are great to look at, specially to hold them, he makes the scales by hand, i like that he makes the scales of different size for each razor therefore "adjusting" the distribution of weight to achieve great balance. I must mention he is a very nice person to do business with and very easy to get ahold off (he was giving me updates through pm in how the blade was doing throughout the days ) you just get use quickly to this kind of treatment.
The blade is a an extremely great shaver, with out of this world beauty, super super recommend it.
So this is basically it, a great job done on a great blade, Thank Max-s...you really outdid yourself with this one.
    Thanks guys , be well!
    sergio.

You said its an electric razor. Where do you plug it in?

Just kidding. Did it come that way or did you have to restore it?

    Sergio,

thanks for your kind words and you're one lucky person to have a friend that comes accross top notch razors.

That razor rocks! I have a Friedmann & Lauterjung's wedge that's just plain awesome and since I honed and test shaved yours which is a full hollow singing edge I can only come to conclusion that these are silent sleepers.

    thebigspendur,
I received the razor in black crappy scales and the blade had some tarnish, stains and a few pit marks. When I removed the scales the damage was even bigger. I had to sand down the whole tang and tail side and I lightly had to sand the rest of the blade. Used Bubinga wood for the scales and as requested by Sergio, adjustables. The blade took an excellent final polish after all my restore work. The blade also took an incredible sharp edge once honed.

I'm now on the lookout for F&L's razors...
