Santa brought my new Thiers Issard early rhis year. I asked a plain scaled 6/8's extra hollow new steel blade. It's going into my air travel kit where I hope it does not present the temptation a worked back fine scaled razor would to our dedicated safety inspectors.

The razor fit evenly and tighly in the scales and the blade a satin polish. The blade is even with no defects. The new steel has a letter stamped on the back of the tang. It took a minimum amount of honing to get an incredible edge. Twenty passes on my Spyderco medium for the bevel, followed by 30 on the the fine and 80 on the ultra fine. The resulting shave this morning was extremely close and comfortable.

It will be joining the 6/8's similiarly scaled Le Grelot full grind that I bought from Jagger earlier in the year in my kit on my next Swiss ski vacation.
