Still Stone Crazy After All :-(
Josh Earl Knows His Stuff !
I got this pair of Josh Earl razors for myself for Christmas. The 7/8 is etched to look like Damascus and is a great shaver. Ebony scales are perfect in fit and finish. The 11/16 notch point is also a beauty and a great shaver with Josh's new stamp on the tang. Beautiful olive wood scales on this one. The grind profile of both of these is perfect and they are also perfectly balanced. Like all of the razors I have gotten from Straight Razor Designs they shaved wonderfully right out of the box. Josh Earl is right up there with the best of them IMHO and his razors are still priced reasonably for customs.

I'm a Shaaarrrk!
Yeah. I had a standing non binding agreement with him, that if he got time and felt like it, he would make me one that looks somewhat like the one in your first picture.
I generally like the ones that look a little bit gritty, rough, whatever (you probably now what I mean).
But then at one point he started up at the SRP store thing, so I guess that would be one of the better ways to get at his wares.
I certainly like the looks.

Those are two awesome looking razors! We should all be so lucky to have one of those, but two?? Very nice!

I also have a JE acid-etched razor very similar to the first one and it is a beautiful razor. The balance is great and it looks soooo cooooooool! It really is a jewel. It fits in the hand so comfortably - I love my extra long tail and every razor I have had made since getting my JE has incorporated a longer tail (it gives great control in the hand when all 4 firgers can grip the razor) - so thanks Josh!
He told me that he has made some great progress on his edges lately so I bet yours is a great shaver! I really like mine - it is stiff and acts more like a wedge even though it is not. Josh said my razor had particularly hard steel.
