    Wink Illonos 206

Ive been using this strop for about four months now and have had nothing but success with it. The price is right and so far its done everything Ive expected from it ,made well, seems like it will give years of service, has a nice draw and has done an excellent job so far, also its made as well as any Ive seen.

I like this strop. It is a little small and whoever decided to put gold lettering on the top 4 or five inches of the linen side should be tied to chair and beaten with hammers. You want to feel a smooth draw and scraping over gold lettering is not conducive to smoothness. The leather side is great. nice feel to the leather. Mine is covered in black paste but you can see the gold lettering in the linen where the razor is.

    Default Illinois strop

    Mike ,
Ive got two of these and one Straight Razor Designs 3in latigo and I have the canvas pasted on one of the Illinois, and the gold shouldn't be in the way at all, also I haven't found that I even come near it,where it starts is where I usually turn, however The one thing i do notice is that its canvas is far superior to the more expensive strop, and the draw on the leather is much better, however I don't miss having to do the x stroke as the SRD is 3in wide. If the gold lettering bothers you ,it wears off quickly,or you could use a piece of sandpaper,in any event give it some time, its a really good strop, mine has improved with time and some oiling
    Enjoy the journey
