Thread: First strop on leather

All i can say is wow!.Just returned from India and whilst i was there i was determined to get a nice piece of leather so i could make my own strop.After much looking i found a large desk diary bound in leather so i bought it for £7 let them keep the diary and just brought the leather cover home.With it being roughly 1 ft x 2ft iv'e got plenty to make my leather paddle strop with.
Anyway after stopping my razor on it 100 passes(just on the leather wrapped around my balsa strop) iv'e had the best shave yet from my Sr,I'm so close to SR Nirvana i can almost touch it.
So anyone in doubt about buying/making a leather strop......just do it you'll never look back.

Functionality is more important than prettiness, I would argue..! After all, a pretty strop that does nothing for your edge isnt much good.
