    Default diamond compound grade?

I have a tube of diamond compound that the tool and die makers use at work. It's Dialap grade 9-6M, green color. Does anyone know how the grade compares to the microns? I have been using it for years to strop knife blades and it does a great job, but is it too course for a straight? 1.0 or .5 is the micron size too touch up a straight, right? Thinking of using it on a piece of leather.
    Thanks for the help.

.5 micron is fine for razors but the thing you want to watch for with diamond is that it's all in the sorting. You pay for that. If it's not well sorted you can have alot of both smaller and larger bits in there and too much of the large can have a very negative effect.
