    so...when we strop, the spine AND the edge of the blade are in contact with the strop?!?!...not like a knife where just the blade contacts the stone?!?! Thanks. Rich.

    Yes, absolutely! Both the spine and the edge should be flat on the strop. If you lift the spine you'll damage the edge.

    Its the same when you hone: Keep the razor flat on the stone.

    Yes and make sure you roll the razor on the spine at the end like Lynn said doing the roll with the edge will hurt the edge if it is in contact with the strop. Improper stropping will lead to a real dull razor.
