    Default Kanayama heaven

So I got my Kanayama 60K last night.

Is it a piece of art…a beauty to behold? Oh yeah
When I put the claw hold on it does it feel supple and pleasurable? Yep sure does
Does the draw have a silky, magnetic erotic feel? Pure bliss

I’m pretty sure I got a stropping “chubby” last night!!!

    Just sharing,

    Jer

You made a great choice. That craftsman's strops are just magic to look at and to use.
    Enjoy.

Good thing you stopped where you did. Any more "erotic feel talk" and the vice squad might be paying you a visit.

    Har har.

They are very nice strops, I have a #3 and a 90K myself.

What about the fabric strop? Have heard of some issues there?

I say the fabric needs a good breaking in. And it becomes a very nice strop. I ordered a second one and use it with CR0X. I like the feel of it so much. To break it in I washed it a couple time in the washing machine. Then had to glue the leather piece back on the end. Then took a metal ruler and ran it up and down a bunch of time at 90 degrees to the strop and that softened it right up. Now its not so zippy and I love it. I love the suede strop too.

Congrads on a great buy. He might not be around much longer so I had to buy one myself.

I imagine I've heard the same about the fabric portion. I haven't even used it yet. I was going to break it in off the instructions on seller's website (wash it a few dozen times, beat it with a wooden hammer till it's dead, then work it over with glass).

It's pretty stiff. A little more stiff than the webbed strop that came with my SRD strop, but not much. The SRD fabric is just now softening up (bought it in July) and I haven't done anything to it but strop.

I'll let you know after I treat it this weekend.

The man is likely quite old. Hopefully, he is passing on some skills to young helpers.
They were hard to come by new for a while.

Now, seems there are plenty.. A good strop is exactly that!

All of my older ones are sewn or riveted on.

    Truly a fine, fine strop.
I have the 3 and consider getting the 60 or 90k for special occasions and as a back up.
Terrific fast draw on his strop I find compared to my bridal leather one.
    Enjoy.
