That does make sense and a very good observation and point. I learned how to straight shave from Hondurans and it was funny how they looked at me when I asked about a strop.

I have seen several modern day straight razor shaving videos from China and they do not seem to use a strop either. I am only speculating though that they might use their hands instead, but imagine just how convienent it would be as a travel option.

I find, and you did not mention, that stropping with a dry hand produces more draw. I sometimes use a wetted palm after dry. Which did you use?

    hello AFDAVIS

as i told, i was just out of the shower, so it was pretty not dry.

after an hour, i stropped it again, but the feeling was really not the same, skin was tighter. I couldn't say wich would draw the most, but i can say i prefered it with "humide" skin, not dry.

    I got you now !!
sorry, i am a French speaker, so i didn't read well first time.

Yes, i think you have the best sequence : first with dry skin and after with wet skin : coarser before softer.

So you prepare your blade, you finish it on your dry skin, pop in the shower and when your out, you pamper your blade with the softest skin you could offer it.
    After that whiskers fall apart...
