Thread: Interested in making strops

Hey everyone!

I am very interested in strops, particularly how to make them. I am looking for info on what kinds of strops work for straights, the kinds of edges they leave, etc.

I am VERY interested in finding suppliers for strop materials. Chicago screws are easy enough to find, but the clamps are not. Does anyone know where to get them? Also, I am looking for the very finest materials - leather, canvas, linen, balsa and hard wool felt.

Any advice or pointers in the right direction would be appreciated!
