Thread: Help with stropping

HI!

I am new to shaving with a straight razors. I have a Dovo 5/8 and I have been stropping it as I have read and observed on several youtube sights and as I saw it on Lynn's DVD about straight shaving.

I still wonder if I'm doing everything right as I don't want to mess up my razor. The more I read, the more I see how vital good stropping is.

My question is this: I would love to have an "expert" observe my stropping and let me know if I'm doing it right or wrong.

Is there anyone in the Washington DC - Baltimore - northern Virginia area that would be willing to work with me on a one time occasion, to see if I'm doing this part right?

Doesn't seem to have any takers. Alternatively, you could video yourself stropping and upload to youtube for us to offer some friendly criticism.

It's been about one hour on a Friday night. Give it some time; I know there are guys in the area.

You mean not everyone spends their friday nights inside on the computer while their kids sleep??

I can. Just send a pm. No, I was out watching Xmen First class last night. Good movie. But, I promise, I spend every night on SRP and practicing my stropping!
