    Default My First Strop

    ive got this strop with a set from SRD and i was just wondering what the the matched webbing is for? is it used the same as linnin?

    Yes just use the webbing same as you would cotton/linen, I have the same strop but in a 3" version I generally do at least 25 on the webbing and then 50 on the leather. I also like to rub the leather a couple times with my palms before I strop changes the feel just a little versus not doing it as it gets the natural oil off my hands onto the leather. Incidentally I have had this strop in a 3" now a couple years and use it often and it still looks and feels brand new is a very good strop.

    Thanks for that just one question tough i can't put paste on it like cotton/linen right?

    I don't know on that as I haven't tried, it seems like it should work with at least some paste and or diamond sprays. I would e-mail Don or Lynn they would know for sure what would work or not before I put anything on the webbing.
