Thread: Pulling the trigger on a Modular Paddle Strop

I was really going to purchase a SRD English Bridal Strop and then I saw the SRD Modular Paddle Strop. Then I started thinking........... and thinking......... and just when I started to smell smoke and crunching gears I made a decision. I decided to go for the Paddle strop due to its versatility. I figure I can put different felts inpregnated with different diamond sprays etc and if I nick the leather I can just put a new one on.... I read the review on SRP and I am wondering if anyone else here has any thoughts on it.

Thats the way I am going at the end of the week when pay day hits.

I had the paddle strop. I ended up selling it about 6 months after I bought it. The sale had absolutely nothing to do with the equipment, and everything to do with the operator.

They are well built, the transfer of materials with the magnetic back is easy and quick, and it's versatile; for pastes/sprays and a great travelling piece.

I realized that while I enjoyed looking at the strop, that I'm a hanging-strop-kinda-person in my heart. So I made a travelling hanger.....and now everyone's happy....me, and the new owner of the paddle strop!

I bought one secondhand a while ago and it's a very good paddle strop!

great price top notch quality. i don't think you can go wrong. get the english bridle leather pad, it get better with use.

I just got one delivered to me today. I also have an SRD hanging strop. Ill be using the modular to finish razors fresh of the hones but for day to day pre & post shave Ill stick to the hanging strop.

It's all I ever use.

I have the Modular paddle strop and it's my go to strop love the versatility and it's a good size for daily stropping if you prefer a paddle of a hanging strop.

I am crazy about mine. Unique when released and a great performer with some great leathers and materials to choose from. Enjoy!

i am also thinking of pulling the trigger on this strop. I am still new to straight shaving, and have nicked the heck out of my "poor mans strop" from Larry. From everything ive read, paddle strops are more user friendly and can be one less thing to worry about, plus the ability to change the leathers or felts seem awesome. Let me know how you like it when you get it!!
