Question old jeans for ("linen") strop

when you make your own ("linen") strop out of an (old) jean, do you use/strop on the inside or the outside of the jean?

    thanks

I would use the outside of the jean. It has the most pronounced wale and resembles herringbone weave pretty close.

    See this article on twill.

    Best of luck.

Yep, as stated by str8fencer, the outside is probably what most would use.
I made one a couple years back, and it seemed to work ok.
Nowadays I have some diamond paste on it, that seems to work good too.
