Default Well Shaved Gentleman, You Saw It Here First!

Just a sneak peek of an item a few guys have asked about last year and that will be in production when I open again next week. When I first started selling strops I made a tri-Strop from several Illinois Razor Strop components. basically a rough leather, a smooth leather and a linen component all joined together. Sort of the best of all the choices that can be used in order or indivdually depending on the razor and what you need to do to it.

My new Artisan Tri-Strops will feature my usual Red Latigo as the heavy draw component, my Smooth Butt Horsehide as the light draw component and either a Smooth Cotton or Genuine Linen third component. In use the Linen easily flips up out of the way allowing 90% of the Latigo part to be used fro preliminary stropping. Quite a few guys have wanted to add a Linen component to my popular Dual Leather Artisans so a Cotton only or Linen only "add on" piece will also be available to allow you to upgrade. I'll have this in 2", 2 1/2" and 3" models.

I'll have a Sneak Peek Preview on my storefront starting sometime tomorrow of some of what I am working on for 2009. There will be my Linen and/or Cotton only Artisans as well as an affordable entry level Artisan one can build on later by adding cloth components as a step up from last years Apprentice Strop. Remember guys, you saw it here first!

    Thanks guys,
    Tony

Nice! I particularly like the idea of the entry-level Artisan.

It won't be as inexpensive as the Apprentice was but will fit with the component sizes I typically make and allow a buyer to add cotton, handles, different leather, whatever, as he progresses without having to buy a new strop. Basically you could start with this one and make it into the Tri-Strop if you wanted. As always my removeable hardware allows one to replace the leather if it was damaged or one could start learning on the practice strop option.

The Apprentice strops served a purpose but were wastful of the hide and could not "grow" with the user. I have added a photo with the optional handles and showing the Cotton upgrade.

Beautiful as always, Tony. Dollar for dollar there isn't a better investment in straight shaving than an original Heirlom strop. 3 Inch flavor of course!

Depending on the final cost I plan on placing an order on the 7th for a 2 1/2 Red Latigo / Smooth Butt Horsehide strop and a separate linen strop with hardware both padded handles (as pictured) and a practice strop. I would probably want the linen priced w/ and w/o hardware.

Gorgeous.... Will these become available sometime this month or? The notion of one of these in 3" with D-Rings perhaps with cotton pasted to 0.5microns.... for coming off the 16k Shapton droool.... to get any better I think lasers would need to be involved...
