    Good Afternoon Gentlemen,

I'm not sure this is the right place to post this, but I need to make some decisions regarding the current set up for the shopping cart and payment methods for "The Gentlemen's Quarter" website, and I wanted to run a couple of questions by folks just to get a feel for your likes and dislikes.

The current shopping features at Shaving, Bath and Body, Skincare, Home Fragrance, Brushes, Creams, Soaps are easy to use, and of course you can place your order on line using your credit card without being redirected to another page.

Do you prefer a shopping cart that allows you to stay on the same website......paying with your credit card information right then and there ?

Or do you find it an aggravation to be redirected to a separate page ....which takes you to paypal. ( think Paypal standard shopping cart ) ............to make your payment, or redirects you to use your credit card ?

    XXWarm Regards, Colleen

When paying by Paypal, I don't mind being redirected to the Paypal site, but if I pay by credit card, I always feel a little better if I'm not redirected from the vendor's site. Just a quirk I have, I guess. Whichever way is most secure would be best.

PS: Looking forward to more of the "Highlander"

with credit card I prefer to stay on vendors site(s) only and most sites seem integrated that way, the few sites I have shopped at that transfer to another site for credit card info are irritating, now I can't explain it but for paypal it seems to work flawlessly being transferred to paypal make the payment and then transferred back to vendor site, perhaps the difference is just better web designs

I agree with Poncho . I don't mind going to Pay Pal , in fact I prefer it . BTW Colleen , have you ever thought about making an aftershave balm that would be scented like your soaps ?

Right then and there for me. I'm not very patient when it comes to online buying.

Don't transfer to another site - it is annoying and if you realize you added the wrong quantity or item to the cart it is a pain in the ass to get back to the ordering page, plus it is just plain annoying (did I just say that?).

I do a lot of on-line buying. The faster and easier the better, and certainly security is paramount these days. Keep it all on one secure site.

You should definately avoid transfering away from the site. PayPal is an exception. What cart are you using?

It REALLY bothers me when I'm transferred away from a site... sometimes it prevents me from shopping with that particular vendor. To be honest I don't even like being transferred to paypal.
    My 2 cents

    Good Evening Gents

I certainly want to Thank everyone who has posted. The world of cyberspace continues to be difficult for me even though I have come a loooooooooooong way since I first became a member here at SRP. And to tell you true.....where I have learned most of my computer skills..... like learning how to edit a post, and downloading pictures...

For SlamMan; the shopping cart I have is "A Secure Cart"....this was chosen by the young man who built my original site over a year ago, and I do feel like its a nice shopping cart, not to expensive and the technical support is AWESOME.

In the transition from the website you currently see for "The Gentlemen's Quarter"....to the sister site, which looks exactly the same but allows ME ( yippppeeeeee) to edit the content and run weekly articles, there is the issue of shipping....and the shopping cart....sigh.

I'm working with 3 different sets of people. Paypal, A Secure Cart, and Edit.com. Everyone uses computer lingo like I should know exactly what they mean. But the jest of the decision was whether to keep the current set up when the sister site comes up ( if I can.....) or to switch down to a Standard Paypal feature in which I can still use the secure cart but you will be directed away from the website, OR to just use a standard Paypal shopping cart.

I felt like I could make a better decision if I knew what my customer's were interested in....and what features are important to you. So if there's anything else that you can think of that you feel makes for a more secure purchase.....Please just feel free......cuz I'm still learning.

As for the Aftershaves.....they're coming, have no doubt about it. I tell folks I'm like the tortoise in the tale of the Hare and tortoise......I'm not the fastest, but by golly I will get there. I have received a small number of comments regarding some samples of Aftershave that were sent out around Christmas and New Years, and all comments have been positive, and "excited" even....which makes me excited tooo. Shoooot! I might just pull a rabbit outta my hat afterall.....lol....

    Think International: Stick with paypal.

I often speak with European people complaining that certain websites don't take their credit card.
