    Default Important Announcement for Americans

Because the TSA is EXCELLENT at closing the gate after the cow is out, Americans will apparently no longer be able to receive international airmail packages of more than 1 pound. So all your heavier packages will have to come by ship. This effects Kanayama strops (but not razors), and I'm guessing soaps and creams from England, stones from Germany, etc.

I'm sure we can all sleep safer in our beds knowing this is true.

    Best Regards,
    Jim

Unless you can suggest a better strategy to prevent planes from being blown up, I'll continue to appreciate the efforts made to keep us safe.

Delayed gratification in receiving a strop in my mind does not compare with the current risk in loss of life.

Why do you support the sinking of ships?

I guess if it's saving lives why not. While you're at it drop the speed limit to 30, ban alcohol and HFCS and get rid of buildings taller than 2 stories. You will, beyond any shadow of a doubt, save lives.

You do know that airport workers not only receive no screening (as a rule), but are allowed to bring their personal backpacks with them, don't you? I don't have to tell you what someone with criminal intentions could do, do I?

This is beginning to smell like destroying the village in order to save it. At this rate, in 10 years, it won't be the United States anymore. The thing about living in a free society as opposed to a (safer) police state is accepting a (ridiculously tiny!) risk in order to enjoy your freedoms. And remember that Ben Franklin quote about abandoning essential liberty to obtain temporary safety. If only more people would read it!

Apologies to Jim (& the mods)for doing just a bit too much of this:

You have to be prepared to take on some risk.

    Default VITAL UPDATE

Dear Kanayama Customers in the USA and its territories,

Due to the above mentioned TSA policy change, we regret very much to inform you that we will be suspending ALL STROP shipments to the USA for the foreseeable future.

We have investigated all possible solutions, and have found none that are feasible for us. The only option for sending our strops is surface mail, and due the the extremely long processing time (as long as 4 months) and the very real possibility of damage in that time, we do not feel that we would be able to offer the level of service that we feel appropriate.

Again, this effects ONLY STROPS, NOS razors will still be shipped, and it only effects customers in the USA and its territories including Guam, Puerto Rico, etc.

Of course, if the policies effecting shipments change in the future, we will gladly resume shipment to the effected areas.

We do apologize for any inconvenience and sincerely appreciate your business until now.

    Best Regards,
    Jim Rion
