    Default Yet another American problem

I'm sorry to say that I will have to now add an extra Aus$9 to the cost of postage to my American (and provinces of same) customers. As of yesterday Monday the 22/11/10, the Australia Post has had to add an extra $9 to parcel postage cost due to fees imposed by US Customs.

I only found this out today when I went down to do my weekly post out. The strop orders I sent out today are covered...It was unexpected and is unfortunate.

Orders placed from today on, will incur the extra cost as part of the postage. It will make postage more expensive than all but my widest strops I think.

    Sorry for the trouble.

So if postage is more expensive than the strop, how much would it cost for you to just mail me a kangaroo instead?

Whole or in pieces?! Roadkill perhaps?!

Postage from here to the US was already expensive (to my mind), without having extra fees added on. To post to some places it will be adding about 25% on to the cost of the postage.

P.S You shouldn't be sorry Utopian. It has nothing to do with any individual...It just is. I will drop the extra charges just as soon as I can.

Once they're in the post tube with the paperwork, and depending on the size of the strop ordered, they top that weight just nicely.

I haven't found a box I trust the postman with yet. I've been looking into it though. I've found some that are thin and, I feel, are too easily crushed. I would rather have my customers stuff arrive safe and over-protected from damage in a post tube than in a squashable thin card box. I may have to change my thinking, with these ridiculous US customs fee's, but not at risk to a customers order.
