Jim's Special Fundraiser Sale
Hey All,
I have decided to make the rather long and circuitous trip to Niigata to meet Shigeyoshi Iwasaki and Ryuichi Mizuochi, the master blacksmiths and generally amazing men behind Iwasaki Kamisori.
However, me being in the middle of nowhere, and they ALSO being in the middle of nowhere on the other side of the island, and Japanese travel costs being what they are, it's going to take a ton of money. So to fund this trip, I'm selling off some of my personal-use items on my blog.
If you'd like to take a look, here's the link: Jim's Fundraiser
Right now, there's one razor, a coticule bout, and an Ozuku Karasu up for sale.
I'll be adding items periodically, as well as trying some different things out, so check back every couple of days if you have a mind to.
Thanks for your attention.
Best,
Jim

The fundraiser is over, gents! Thanks for your support, and keep an eye out for reports from my trip come May.
The waterstones are still up for sale, though, so don't pass them up.

Any chance they have the new and exciting glow-in-the-dark feature?

I'd Like to Hon-Wari-Your-Komi
A half-hearted attempt at humor over the earthquake/tsunami devastated nuclear reactor. I allowed myself that because it wasn't a full-blown meltdown and it would seem it was one of the smaller dillemmas considering the state of the country from the earthquake.
I hope you're okay. It would be kind of cool if you glew in the dark, though. The title is one of my more awesomer pick-up lines. Always works with the Japanese. It's public domain so feel free to use it anytime...

Axel: people has died and are dying and things looks really bad, for a lot of people over there. Not the time for jokes like that, please (especially from someone sitting on another continent).
All the best Jim! I hope you and your dear ones are safe!!
