    Default Rollable travel strops.

This will be the last couple of these before Christmas, and possibly the last couple ever, depending on my future job status...

I have two, count them, two spare rollable kangaroo travel strops left in my inventory. Made from 1st grade vegetable tanned kangaroo leather, it is designed to roll into a container for travel. Fantastic for holidays, camping or military deployment kits. It is 2" wide, around 17" long and has kangaroo leather thongs for suspension and handle. A plastic container is included for postage which can also be used to house the strop inside your Dopp kit.

$51 each, regular international postage included.

Sorry if this is stupid, it is definitely ignorant. What makes this rollable as opposed to every other strop?

That's not ignorant. The magic lies in the fact that it is kangaroo leather. Kangaroo has about the highest tensile strength of any leather, for its weight. This means that although it is very thin and flexible, allowing it to roll into a small container, it is still super strong with no stretch.

If you tried to make a strop this thin of any other leather it would either crease up, tear at the suspension points, or stretch when you pulled it taught and not be flat on the razor. And get all out of shape after a few uses.

Kangaroos also do not sweat, so there are no pores and the stropping surface is very smooth and fine. Great stuff.

Roo leather is very thin compared to bovine leathers with the same tensile strength. This allows the strop to be rolled up quite tightly with little if any longterm effects to the strop.

I don't have one of Legions strops myself (don't need one ), but I can vouch for the quality of the leather having seen one of his travel strops at the last Brisbane get together. They are nice strops.
