Thread: Out Out Damn Spot!

I am looking to remove those frustrating blade specs (and sometimes splotches) from an otherwise shiny blade without abrading it badly or using other harsh methods. They don't seem to have texture, so they seem to be more stains than anything else. I could be wrong though....they could be almost microscopic inactive corrosion or pits.

Any help would be appreciated as I am trying to keep my blades original.

What do you consider to be harsh methods?

Cro Ox and Maas Polishing Question.

Typically any metal polish will take care of them (maas, flitz, etc.), just be careful if the blade has any gold etch on it, most polish will remove it as well.

+1 on the polish. I like Semichrome. For heavier grunge I've had good luck with 0000 wool with a bit of Break Free or some other lubricant.
