Terrible, terrible. I hope my Bergiesher Lowes don't look like that.

While you can't control what happened to the razor before you get it, you can take preventative measures once you own one. You can get some tuf-glide or similar under the rubber and/or totally seal the rubber to the tang (if you have faith that it's dry and stable under already).

I did exactly what Holli has suggested with my Berg Lowe. I gave the area a good rub with the Marine Tuf Cloth, let it dry and slid the rubber back.

It has been fine for the last two (2) years, though I do check it after every shave to make sure no water has sneaked under there !

Fortunately that only affects Fillys not Pumas

That "condom" is a nightmare just lurking & ready to pounce...even on Puma's. I trashed mine & have never looked back...
