Default I don't suppose it really matters - but?

The more razors I get and pull apart for cleaning and polishing etc. the more it becomes apparent that the vast majority of them do not have thrust washers between the blade and the scales.
Is this as common as I am experiencing or am I just getting cheap razors.
In the overall scheme of things it doesn't really matter as I put them in as a matter of course when I repin - just wondering about anyone else's experience.
    Thanks,
    Geoff

I haven't pulled many razors apart, but I'd say in my collection of ~18 about half of them have had very thin washers inside.

Most razors I have pulled apart so far have had washers.

I've unpinned my share of vintage razors and I'd say about 6 to 7 out of 10 had washers. The average being the thin 0.010 kind.

I would have to agree with Max and Bruno IME it seems that 70%-80% have washers, but I have run into more than a few in a row that don't

    Thanks Guys.
I must just be getting the cheap ones 'cause about 60 - 70% of mine don't have washers....oh well, they do when I finish with them.
Glad I have an FBH to flatten them with.....hehehehe

Do thrust washers provide an advantage, or is it a preference thing?

I think they are designed to prevent wear on the scales, however, I've been wrong before
