Thread: best sand paper for my project?

right now i have a straight which is not rusted at all but it is grey and i would like to give it a shine! so which grits of paper should i use? also on a side note how are the pins taken out?

p.s. if any of you have had use with the king kutter hone like its grit, quality and ect that would help

before you jimp to sand paper try metal polish.
Mothers aluminum & Mag works great and is found at Walmart for example.

i have and it just makes it a shiny grey

For mild abrasiveness, try micromesh pads.

when restoring a blade you need to use a progression of sand paper going as high as you can in the grits.
the level you start at depends on the condition of the blade.
