Default Replating TTO razors....dissassemble first? or no?

    Hi folks,

I'm looking at having my Dads and my razors replated. His is a 40's Tech, mine is a 50's SS. Can I just hand them the SS and have it plated as is? I know the plating is micros thick, I just dont want to mess up the mechanism.

    Thanks,

    ryan

To do it right the razor would have to be totally disassembled. Whether the plater would do that or you have to is something you have to ask.

    Thanks for the reply.

I sort of figured that. I didnt want to hurt the mechanism. The doors dont come off though. I may just end up doing Dads Tech, if he's interested.

Both of the replaters I know of do not disassemble the razors. Even the adjustables aren't disassembled (problematical with the ones with a pressed-on endcap, anyway).
