Grain direction on spacer wedges
I'm making a bone spacer wedge today and was wondering if there is a best way for the grain direction to go when i make it.
I guess it would be the same if your using wood but I havent made on of those either yet, so anyone with an opinion please let me know.
It may not even matter but my OCD brain need wont let me cut it without some informed advice.
Thanks
Grant

Hi Grant, mine have tended to go perpendicular to the grain on my scales but I haven't paid close attention to it. I suppose that going in the same direction would enhance the flow and symmetry of the design though.

My OCD wouldn't let me go any other way than the same as the scale material, Grant.
I think, from a structural perspective, the grain should run lengthwise as well, but that's just me.
I can't wait until I have some bone to work with, good luck and show us the results.
