Thread: polishing black plastic scales - suggestions and tips

ok i need a little advice on what is the best way to polish black plastic scales, i tried autosol metal polish but have found it a little course and its not looking a little "dull" and blurred. i dont have much else in the way of polish at the moment ( i have a tube of Maas on order).

what do you guys normally do to restore black plastic scales to a nice shine? any suggestions would be appreciated as i dont want to-do anything that will harm them further.

For most all scales, on the final gloss polish I use either Novus 1-2-3 or a Automotive polish called Plast-X which is made for polishing the Acrylic headlamp covers on cars... It is all pretty much the same stuff so just ask at any auto store if they have a product to polish out the haze and scratches on Headlamp covers...

Maas also works quite well

thanks for the suggestions guys, i have a tube of Maas in the post, when it arrives i will give it ago and see what results i get from it. If i need something smoother i will be going back to halfords to see if they stock anything like the plastic polish mentioned above and give that ago.
