Thread: Because its never too far gone!

Today I begin my first true TOTAL restoration.

Not even sure what it is yet, but I have decided to name it Fox (Ferrous Oxide) get it?

Poor thing was in the bottom of a toolbox in a damp basement for who knows how long. I had to pry it open!

Lets see what I can do to... I mean WITH it!

For some reason, I have full faith it'll be beautiful. Looking forward to seeing it!

Curiosity and chemistry(Fox ) led me to this thread. Please keep us posted on your progress. It'll be interesting to see what you have there.

Thats an ambitious restoration, but I'm sure it will make a great before and after pic when your finished.

a little polish on a 12k and she will be as good as new!

Today is hand sanding day. just to get the rough stuff off and I can take stock of the situation. Razor is stamped...

Anybody have any info on the maker?

Some hand sanding, and some free hand grinding. a bit of greaseless just to see what it might look like. The pitting goes fairly deep, I dont think it will be possible to remove it all without turning a wedge into a full hollow!
Opinions? ( I know the pics suck, stupid shiny making me)

It's starting to look like a razor, good work.

man i like it right now... hone it & drop some bone scales and its good to go !
