Default 1st Attempt at a basic restoration

I had a Hartford Cutlery Extra Hollow Ground 20 that had a little rust, pitting, and staining/patina as well as a chip in the blade. The handle is in pretty good condition so I worked around it and didn't touch it. I did all the sanding by hand. I started taking pictures after I had already started some of the work. I still need to either hone it or get it honed. What do you think?

Excellent restore. Looks really well done.
Nice work getting rid of the chip. You should be proud of this.

I think it looks great. I also think it's ready to hone!

That is a first rate job of work. Congratulations! Many of that era razors are really pleasant shavers!

Looks great! Do you have a buffer or did you hand sand? Please explain what you did!

There was no buffer, just a lot of hand sanding starting at 320 grit w/d up to 2000 grit w/d.
