My experience with injectors is that they are rather mild shavers and lightweight making it pretty easy to use too much pressure, causing irritation and weepers. I'd say try again, paying mind to the pressure you use, and it should hopefully be better.

I have an old one with the bakelite handle. I see them on eBay all the time. It is a great travel razor and actually is a very nice shaver. Agree that not much pressure is needed for a really good shave.

Have fun

Thanks i tried it again today using a different shave soap and it still has my neck torn up. I guess i will try another type of injector blade and see if that helps but if not i will look into trading my type i 55 for a single edge t shape razor that uses a artist club type blade....

What kind of blades are you using? Assuming you bought new blades, my experience is that the Personnas are the bottom of the barrell. Chinese Schicks are pretty darned good blades, but I like the Schick Proline as my injector blade of choice. Very sharp and smooth. The only problem is that they are only available from Japan, or very very few US sources.

I dont have any prolines to try in it, i wish i did. I tried schick yellow package only since thats all i have but not vintage schicks they were new ones.....

The new yellow Schicks are pretty well liked. But, like all week shaving products, YMMV.

Yep maybe i will get it figured out. If not i'll see if anyone wants to trade a schick type I55 for an ac/se razor. I was looking at the hawk.

I have two of the Type E Schick Injector type. For me, it’s the best (for me) all round safety razor ever produced due to how it hold the thick blade and the small size of the head. Good for clean up in tight areas regardless of what other razor it used for most of the work.

Could just be the razor is wonky, but lot of the old injectors are way out of spec, full of gunk, etc. Check the feed ramp, and the clearance where the blade passes the closest lug to that ramp. If the blade is bumping into it on the way in, that can cause your face to get torn up. If the blade is not sitting correctly, because of a lump of verdigris or whatever, that can cause the same issues.

I forgot to ask, did the razor contain a blade before you injected a new blade? If not, this is the problem as the blade is ruined when loading an empty razor.

Yes it had a blade in it and yes i cleaned it thoroughly prior to use. I even ejected the old blade and cleaned those parts of the razor under blade then took an empty key put old blade in said key reinjected old blade then took new key and then inserted new blade so as to make sure i didnt damage a new blade.

Is there a Doctor in the house ?
I have a Type C and a couple of E3's that aren't too successful. The Type N makes for a nice shave, but if I'm not going to use a straight I'll usually go for the General with a Feather Professional blade. The injector that was too much for me was the PAL Adjustable - too aggressive, though I've read that can be controlled by using an odd shaving angle.
