I'm loving the density packed two bands.. The tips are almost silvertip soft and they have that famous two band backbone
my ever-ready doesn't have a bad nylon knot in it. its actually a pretty good synthetic knot.........I'm a big fan of boar brushes, but I've been having fun with synthetic lately. The synthetic knots have come a long way since the old nylon Ever-Ready brushes of the past.
What's your favorite synthetic? The current state of the synthetics are among the best of the species so far. On par with some of the best badger and boar brushes. It's not just me, but there are many guys who seem to share that opinion.
For me the best brush is the Omega 10048. Boar all the way. Once broken in the tips are softer than a badger and produces a superior lather as well.
I guess I am "old school". There's NOTHING better than the feeling of a knot full of super-soft badger hair caressing your face.
My go-to, easily, is one of my two Semogue boar brushes (these days the larger one as I'm doing full-face shaves). But I agree that modern synthetics are impressive.
My favorite everyday synthetic is the SilkSmoke from AP Shave. I have it mounted in a handle made for me by Vladimir Ferdman.

Badger is my knot of choice. 2-Bands are great; the old Simpson Best Badgers are wonderfully soft. I have a Rubberset 400 with an Omega Boar. Terrific "soap killer", stunk to high-heaven when it was new. One synthetic...a second generation Simpson. Good brush for travel.
