Thursday shave
1st pass - ATT Windsor Pro SB 90 with an Elios Inox blade. Really like this razor, smooth & very efficent

2nd pass- Artrazor 11/8 Cardinal in titanium. Words cant do this beautiful blade justice

Wholly Kaw Tim Jr -I am absolutely over the moon with this soap and aftershave. Such a wonderful scent, and the performance of this soap is over the top.

Sawdust creations, brush, USMC, inlay by Bobby Moffett

One heck of a nice way to start the dayIMG_8947.jpegIMG_8928.jpeg

So what are your thoughts on the Adaee #12000 Cnat ??
Being a natural whetstone, each is different. When I ordered mine from China (about UD$30 including shipping), I asked the vendor to select a stone with minimal inclusions as it was to be used to finish straight razors. He replied that he couldn't guarantee anything but would try his best.

Here is what I received after lapping flat and chamfering the edges. Size is about 200mm x 75mm x 30mm.

Since receiving this whetstone about a year ago, I have used it on SRs of many different steel types. I have found it to be a slow but very fine cutter. For me, it excells particularly with harder stainless steel SRs. It takes a lot of time to properly finish an edge with this stone but I feel that the end result is worth it. Maybe I was just lucky with my purchase.

For harder high carbon steel blade, I tend to favour a hard black Arkansas finish while other high carbon steel blades tend to do well on coticules.

Thank You for the reply. I appreciate it a lot. I do not have any stone higher than an 8k currently so I am looking for something to use as a finisher and I had noticed those ADAEE 12 k and was curious.. Again thanks for the reply and the info you provided....

This evening I shaved with a Titan ACRO T.H.64 that was finished on an Adaee #1200. An enjoyable shave was had.

The T.H.64 is claimed to have a hardness of about 64RHC which would put it harder than most normal HCS SRs. When I measured the hardness on a T.H.64 SR, it came in at about 63RHC using a test machine that may not have been super accurate.

I have found that the Titan ACRO SRs (stainless steel) can be finicky to hone. They take a lot of very light laps to get right. Because of their high abrasion resistance, people (myself included initially) get frustrated and tend to apply more (to much?) pressure. This can lead to microchipping on its edge. However, once the edge is properly honed, it holds that edge very well.
