This is my best razor ever ! No really !
Hi Gents! I recently acquired a lot of 15 razors with what the seller described as a “sharpening block.” Luckily I recognized the stone as a stickered and in the box 7x2.5x.75 Hohenzollern Abziehsteine (HA) Thuringian from the late 1800s! The HA is light gray in color, soft, and a dream to finish a razor upon! I actually did the first shave test yesterday, and it was sublime.

The lot actually made me a bit sad initially, because it was clear that the owner of the razors and the stone was an avid enthusiast who knew what he was doing! However, I surmise that he passed away and his beloved kit was just left to rust and rot. I was only able to save five of the once desirable razors…three of which were SWEET Frederick Reynolds (FR) razors. The FR blades were reground in an identical manner, and the grinds on them are a stunning hollow! I wish I could shake the hand of the genius that reground them…they were a real joy to hone!
