In January I laid out 3 Sheffield's. I shaved with them until July. In July I cleaned stropped and put them in there box and got out 3 Henckels. A 50 and two 72 1/2. I plan on using these until this fall when I'll get out 3 more Sheffield's but different ones. I have reduced my collection to about 20 and keep most in the safe. Some day I'll reduce to 7 . one for each day. That will be easier on the wife when I permitly quite shaving.

(y) how was the shave? what do you think of the brush?
The Simpson 59 is a terrific brush from the Grey Box era. Best badger hair then is, imo, superior to the best badger available (or what is harvested) today. The Dovo came to me with a very fine edge. Naturally over time it has needed refreshing and I am contemplating going back to my Norton 4/8k and progressing through my Shapton 16k. Still gave a pretty good shave today, but I had to work too hard to get it. Maybe I'll start on my Naniwa 12k and Shapton and evaluate the results. Feels good in the hand, I must say.
